Chena Hot Springs Resort is located at the end of Chena Hot Springs Road; a pleasant, completely paved, 60 mile scenic drive from Fairbanks. It was voted in 2002 as one of the most scenic drives in the Interior.
Chena Hot Springs Resort is home to the world’s only year-round ice environment in the world, the Aurora Ice Museum! It was created from over 1,000 tons of ice and snow all harvested at the resort. The museum was completed in January 2005 and stays a cool 20 degrees Fahrenheit inside.
It was discovered in 1905 by Swedish gold mining brothers. It quickly became a cherished respite for miners and residents to ease their ailments using the healing waters of the natural hot springs. The original 1914 lodge serves today as the front desk lobby, gift shop and Trails End Lounge. The 440 acre full-service Resort has 80 lodge rooms and is open year-round with over 50 empolyees. The Resort is alos known as one of the best places on earth to view the Aurora Borealis.
Various size meeting rooms are available for group sizes 10-150 persons for special occasions, meetings, weddings, conventions, family reunions, seminars or retreats.
