Edmonton, Alberta to Debut New Trade Show and Conference Facility

9/24/2009 - Edmonton, Alberta will soon be home to the Edmonton Exposition & Conference Center (Edmonton EXPO Centre), a brand new 522,000-square-foot trade show and conference facility to be run by the Northlands organization. With the exciting addition of this new space, Edmonton will have the largest trade and conference center outside of Toronto.

Notable features of the Edmonton Expo Centre include four exhibition halls, a grand ballroom and world-class conference and catering facilities. The lead up to the facility’s December 2009 opening has already begun with a ‘Countdown to Big,’ campaign that included a formal unveiling event attended by Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach, Members of Parliament and Edmonton’s Mayor Stephen Mandel.

Funding for the new $150 million facility was contributed by the Government of Alberta, Government of Canada and the city of Edmonton.

Among the 2,500 events it holds each year, which attract over 4 million visitors, Northlands hosts the Canadian Finals Rodeo, Think, Farmfair International, Capital EX, and Rexall Edmonton Indy. For more information about the new Edmonton Expo Centre, please visit: www.edmontonexpocentre.com.
