Pittsburgh is a first-tier destination with more than $2 billion in economic developments, including two new ballparks and a $354-million convention center. The center, on the river in downtown’s business and cultural district, is the first “green” building of its kind and provides 313,000 square feet of exhibition space and 53 meeting rooms.
Parks and running trails are being built along the rivers and provide a refreshing green space connecting the Convention Center with the Cultural District and the Strip District, a neighborhood popular for dining and nightlife. The Cultural District anchors Pittsburgh’s world-class symphony, opera, ballet, theater and film. Nearby museums include the Heinz History Center, the Andy Warhol Museum, and Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History.
