Letter from the President

“The world at your fingertips” has become quite the understatement for a generation with what seems to be an innate savvy for technology. In an industry dedicated to venue specific networking, the arena has evolved into larger than life, environmentally friendly worldwide sets of connections. But, who minds the store when the networkers need networking? Whether we should applaud Bill Gates, Al Gore, or all the other master minds that gifted us with the internet, one thing is certain; industry specific needs are not merely offered by the local vendor on the other side of town anymore. Competitive price shopping is now your choice to do statewide, nationwide and/or worldwide.

We at Conventions.net found the opportunity to create a field where professionals can both offer and/or receive detailed services that are precise to the needs of the Tradeshow and Conventions industry. We found that we could order a television, uncover the secrets of removing that ink stain from our lucky tie and even find a life partner (with up to a 97% rate of compatibility), but nowhere could we find a website that offered quality booth designers, convention centers, tradeshow insurance, travel planners, convention calendar, promotional items, etc, in one convenient location.

The economic crisis is taking its toll on every business, regardless of size. Among the consistent laments I’ve heard: Firms can’t plan and budget for the future because it’s so uncertain. One thing is evident. Within such an indeterminate economic climate, advertising must now be more prudent and strategic than ever. At Conventions.net, we have finely tuned our system to access an unparalleled amount of potential prospects with trackable results. We know that empirical numbers don’t lie. When search engines can confirm that "X" amount of unique visitors have viewed and actively searched for their needs on our website, we know we are offering a value that far exceeds that of any print publication. As well, our proverbial coattails are welcoming riders at no extra cost to optimize your position on Google, Yahoo and MSN; at a cost no more than the advertising fee itself.

Success has always followed a consistent theme; you must spend to make and make to spend. I strongly believe that this still applies, however we at Conventions.net have the luxury to extend to our customers additional worth with tools such as featured blog posts, e-blasts, and now; TOOLS OF THE TRADEshow, a comprehensive biweekly publication which will feature subjective views and concerns to help you keep your finger on the pulse of the tradeshow industry. We cannot dominate that which we don’t understand.

I am proud of both our dedicated staff, as well as our prestigious client base, and am amazed at how well they gel. I give you my solemn promise that I will continue to instill family values in a big business sector ,and continue to build a home for the true networkers to network.
