Meet in Illinois is a statewide association of local and regional convention and tourism bureaus in partnership with the Illinois Council of Convention and Visitors Bureaus and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism. Our goal is to encourage overnight stays produced by meetings and conventions in the State of Illinois, while building and strengthening partnerships between CVBs and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism.
Meet in Illinois activities include:
Increasing the visibility and image of Illinois through participation and exhibit at national trade shows
Generating meeting planner contracts for partner CVBs through sponsored booths at trade shows and other new business development initiatives
Providing professional development opportunities for Meet in Illinois partners via educational forums to keep tourism and hospitality sales and marketing professionals abreast of innovative techniques and changing trends in sales and marketing initiatives
Illinois Bureau of Tourism is a not-for-profit organization charged with representing Illinois and helping the long-term development of Illinois communities through a travel and tourism strategy. Illinois Bureau of Tourism is an unbiased resource, and serves as a broker and official point of contact for convention and meeting planners, tour operators and visitors. Illinois Bureau of Tourism will assist planners with meeting preparation and encourage business travelers and visitors alike to visit local historic, cultural and recreational sites.
